May 24, Dnipropetrovsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, award ceremony was held for the winners of 20th Anniversary Festival. Higher Dramatic Arts Prydniprovia Award - ‘Sicheslavna-2012’ is conferred to stage professionals, whereas ‘Sicheslavna’s Hope’ is intended for creative young dramatic professionals. The jury panel has determined 35 contest winners. This year about 20 theatres, along with 9 from Dnipropetrovsk, 5 from Zaporizhzhya, 3 from Kryvyi Rih and 2 from Dniprodzerzhinsk and Pavlograd were trying their chances for victory.
May 25, candidates to the Rector’s Office started off with presenting their election programmes. Faculty of Mathematics dean, Professor Sergiy Gomeniuk took the lead.
Early May, Komsomolsk (Poltava region), a series of traditional International Youth Forums on “Slavic League of Children’s Diplomacy” and “Song’s Tune to unify the Partners” was carried out. Within the events’ framework Charity ‘Children to children’ Festival was also undertaken. ZNU Faculty of Philology 1st year student of Russian Linguistics Oleksiy Vorozheyev became the winner in the Golden Voice nomination.

May 17-19, Yalta, 3rd Sports Games of Ukraine in track and field were carried out among HEIs of 3-4 accreditation level.

May, 23 ZNU Museum hosted the event dedicated to the Bulgarian language, culture and Slavic written language, which welcomed Bulgarian communities’ representatives from Zaporizhzhya region.
