In order of MES of Ukraine № 1528 of 29.12.2014 ZNU has been created new Specialized Scientific Council К 17.051.09 with the right to review and in defence of a thesis for the degree of PhD in Pedagogic sciences of specialty 13.00.04 in «Theory and Methods of Professional Education».

November 11 Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration has awarded the winners of the regional competition for gifted young people in science, organized by the Office of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports. This year the competition received 78 papers in different directions from all institutions of higher education in our region. Among the winners - four students of Zaporizhzhya National University. According to the jury, our university was the most active for the number submitted for participation in the competition works.

2October 1 in Zaporizhzhya National University began a series of events marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of the world renowned poet and prose writer, classical Russian literature Mikhail Lermontov. Teachers and students of the Faculty of Philology decided to introduce all lovers of poetry, little known facet with the artist. So began the celebration of Lermontov and readings during which dealt with the Ukrainian motifs in his work, the influence of this poet in our literature and poetry revealed relationship with Mikhail Yurievich painting and music.

October 9-12 on the basis of Zaporizhzhya National University and Poltava National Technical University named after Yuriy Kondratiuk held International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference "Modern innovative investment mechanisms of development of the national economy".

October 9 at the Philological Faculty began two-days All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Literature and History".

Zaporozhie National University postgraduate students Kateryna Shabal and Karyna Shum won the First International Contest of scientific-methodical and final qualifying works "Gnosis", which was held from April 1 to August 31 in Rostov-on-Don (Russia). 30 September during a meeting of the Academic Council the Rector of ZNU Mykola Frolov gave the girls and their supervisor, associate professor of Ukrainian Literature Department Valentyna Kravchenko diplomas to the winners and Certificate of Merit.

3-5 September representatives of the Faculty of Economics, chaired by Dean, Professor Alla Cherep took part in the International Congress of Young Scientists (Sunny Beach, Bulgaria). The organizers of scientific events, brought together young scientists from Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia and Ukraine were members of the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland).

In late June, a Young Sociologist's School "Global Contexts of Ukrainian Sociology: Learn and Teach" for the fifth time brought together young teachers of social sciences from all regions of Ukraine.

Recently it became known results of the 3rd of the scholarship program "Zavtra.UA" Victor Pinchuk Foundation. Total in the 2nd round of contest were checked by experts 1864 contest works. To participate in the 3rd round of the contest allowed 602 students from universities all over Ukraine, among them - 14 students of Zaporizhzhya National University.

In February-March 2014 the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine continues reporting campaign on the results of scientific, technical activities of higher educational institutions for 2013. A Zaporizhzhya National University - Vice-Rector for Science and Research Victor Gristchak, Head of scientific research Department Viktoriia Menyaylo and Head of scientific and organizational department of SRD Iryna Tumanova - March 13 at the Department of Scientific Activity and Education of Ukraine presented the Licensing academic achievement of ZNU last year.
