Today in our university for the first time there was a contest of flowerbeds created by Faculties, Economics and Law College and other structural Departments of our university. Assessed the contest commission, consisted of the Rector of ZNU, professor Mykola Frolov (committee chairman), Vice-Rector for Maintenance and Supply Serhiy Kushnir, acting Rector’s Assistant on Public Relations and Media Galina Mikitov, Head of the Department of Landscape Design and Phytogenetics, professor Victor Liakh, Director of university campus Armen Mkhitarian and Head of the Students' Council of ZNU Olha Lebedieva.
In the contest took par flowerbeds of the following Faculties – Mathematics, Physics, Journalism, Philology, Foreign Languages, Biology, Economics,History and Law, and also a flowerbed of Economics and Law College, sports club, ZNU administration and Maintenance and Supply Department. Representatives of the Faculty of Social Pedagogics and Psychology (headed by Dean Olha Ponomarenko) brought down territory of the park near the 8th academic building of ZNU (PC named after Drobyazko).
Flowerbeds of Maintenance and Supply Department ("Painter's glade") and ZNU administration were out of the competition because, according to the Rector Mykola Frolov, they are the property of the university. It should be noted that the work on ZNU administration flowerbeds is not completed in the future, near the carriage with flowers will also jugs decorated in patriotic colors.
Contest Committee assessed the flowerbeds by several criteria: area of flowerbeds, planting density, plant design, creating flower beds, flowering different species of flowers, the level of plant care and other.
The judges expressed their admiration not only flowerbeds but made observations and revealed weaknesses that future authors of flowerbeds should to correct.
The results of the contest will be announced later, and winners awarding and nominees will be held on Monday, June 2, during a meeting of Rector's office.
