Faculty Of Economics Graduates’ Meeting

28.02.2006 10:42

The meeting for those who graduated from the Faculty of Economics between 1994-2005 was held on February 24 in ZNU building V. It started with greetings from lecturers and first-year students.

Volodymyr Volkov, ZNU Vice-Rector on Research and Educational Work, also welcomed all the guests. Graduates of 1996 were among the most active and made a huge contribution to faculty development, he noted. Faculty’s first dean Ivan Koloberdyanko wished every success to all the graduates, and Emilia Prushkivs’ka, current dean, stressed upon the fact that the Faculty of Economics was the first to organize such a meeting in the year of ZNU’s 75th anniversary.

The meeting was aimed at summing the results of faculty’s work up, communication between the lecturers and former students etc. The graduates congratulated former deans of the faculty – Assistant Professor, PhD (Economics) Volodymyr Bugay and Assistant Professor PhD (Economics) Anatoliy Kushchyk.

It was stressed several times that the graduates of 1996 were outstanding for their orderliness. Meanwhile, former students were expressing their gratitude to the lecturers for good preparation to self-dependent life. The majority of them are directors of accounting and audit companies or Ministry of Finance employees now. Igor Savkin, who graduated in 1996 and is the director of accounting and audit company in Kyiv at present, said: “The lecturers have taught me to be not clever only, but cheery as well. Without doubt, it was very helpful for me.” Lyudmyla Petryk, graduate of 1999, expressed her thanks to Assistant Professor Lidiya Korotka. Lyudmyla herself is PhD of Economics now, owing to her teacher, she said.

Everyone was pleased with the meeting – both lecturers and former students. We hope such a meeting will become a good example for other faculties of our university.
