At the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Zaporizhzhya National University was held IX Scientific-practical student conference "Christmas Readings". Year by year it is becoming increasingly popular among students who are interested in science. So, this time the organizing committee received 196 abstracts from the representatives of our University, as well as young researchers from Zaporizhzhya National Technical University and Classic Private University, and even from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

At the beginning of the plenary session the participants were welcomed by the honorable guest of the event – the Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Hennadiy Vasylchuk. On behalf of the Rector of ZNU, Professor Mykola Frolov, he wished the young scientists fruitful work and networking that would help them in the future to build a successful career. He also addressed words of sincere gratitude to the academic staff of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, which, under the leadership of its Dean, Associate Professor Halyna Moroshkina, pays a lot of attention to scientific work with the gifted youngsters.
Then, the work of the participants of the conference was divided according to the workshops: "Actual problems of translation", "Actual problems of English Philology", "Actual problems of French Philology", "Actual problems of Spanish Philology", "Actual problems of German Philology", "Actual problems of literature studies" and "Actual problems of foreign languages teaching methods".
During the summarizing of the conference, organizers pointed out the good level of participants’ preparation, their motivation, activity and desire to improve knowledge. Also, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages stressed the relevance of such forms of work with young researchers who were making their first steps towards building a scientific career.
