The work of the 3 day training of the project “Equity for security” began 9 August in Zaporizhzhia. This project is focused on how “women promote change, restore peace and prevent conflicts at the regional level inUkraine.”

The events which were organized by Ukrainian women fund were visited by the representatives of the local and regional local authorities, public organizations, charity funds, and also educational institutions. Tetiana Holovanova, the director of the Center for Gender Education on the base of the faculty of social pedagogy and psychology, and other specialist of Zaporizhzhia national university presented ZNU on this training. Zaporizhzhia region is one of the fifth regions ofUkrainewhere the project “Equity for security” is being realized. The main goal of this project is promote the participation of the women in the process of the restoring the peace and preventing the conflicts. In order to achieve it, the organizers seek to support local authorities and public organizations in developing and implementing action plans to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” for the period to 2020.

It was also discussed in the presentation of the project which was organized for the presents by Anna Saitarly, the expert on monitoring and evaluation of the Ukrainian Women’s Fund and coordinator of this event in Zaporizhzhia region.

Furthermore, the expert on communication and development of the coalition Hanna Shevchenko pointed out that she was pleased by the civic engagement of the population in Zaporizhzhia region, great amount of the public organizations the work of which were dedicated to the prevention from gender discrimination etc.

The organizers of the event and its participants were greatly impressed by the presentation of the work of the Center for Gender Education in ZNU. While speaking about the work of the Centre, Tetiana Holovanova mentioned that Gender Forum was held twice on the base of the faculty of pedagogy and psychology (in 2017 and 2018 years)  of ZNU and it was dedicated to the modern social problems and the ways of their overcoming on the regional level. Moreover, she hopes to find new same-mined people on this training who will have one common goal such as restoring the peace, and preventing the conflicts at the regional level inUkraineby attracting the women to their solving.

The participants of this training will have two more days of the hard work. The training will be finished by the presentation of the grant program for the organizations of the coalition.
