The lecturer of the physical culture department of our university, the head of the sport section Daria Vaniuk was invited by the sport club of “Lviv Polytechnic National University” to took part in the European Volleyball Championship among veterans +35 as part of the Ukrainian volleyball team.
It was the Ukrainian team that confidently passed all five meetings and won in the final of the competition.
This year the sports club of “Lviv Polytechnic National University” gathered participants of a professional volleyball team - volleyball veterans from different regions - Lviv, Donetsk, Ternopil, Mykolaiev, Zaporizhzhia etc. The volleyball championship "Kaman Cup - European Masters Championship Poland 2018" was held from 5 to 9 September in the town of Ostroleka (Poland).
44 teams from 11 countries (Estonia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Moldova and Finland) competed for the titles of Europe in each age category. Female categories were represented by the teams of veterans of 35 and 40, and in the categories of men - 40, 45, +50 and +55. Women's Ukrainian team won gold.
In the final games Ukrainian girls met with representatives of the Polish volleyball team. During these games our athletes held two sets (according to the rules of the game) and confidently won with a score of 2:0. The Ukrainian women's volleyball team got a Cup and a medal. Additionaly, Daria Vaniuk was titled as the best striker.
