The university library has joined the International Conference "Classic creativity: a modern library through the eyes of young librarians"
Recently, the International Scientific Conference "The creativity of the classics: the modern library through the eyes of young librarians" was held in V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Information Resource Center Window of the Kharkiv Regional Methodological Association of University Libraries, Library of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics of Yagellona University.
The conference brought together young professionals from many cities of Ukraine, particularly from Odesa, Kiev, Uzhhorod, Sumy, Poltava, and the representatives from Germany and Poland also joined this event. The scientific library of Zaporizhzhia national university was presented by the head of the sector Daria Prosiana.
35 reports were presented during the event, among which were “Should silence be in the library?!” - changes in the perception of libraries; The 3D library is a modern library design and space; Those who see the world differently: the engine of library progress is innovation; “Read to them fairy tales” ... why there are problems in reading of modern youth; Acting librarian at work with the reader; Youth subcultures and library; Volunteers Wanted: how to find and collaborate successfully with volunteers in the library, etc.
The conference also included an online meeting with librarian and professor Jennifer Velasquez (USA), who is a popular lecturer and consultant, author of the book "Real-World Teen Services", as well as numerous articles on library services for adolescents and youth. She is an international leader in library service philosophy and practice.
Iryna Tykhonkova, an expert on information and analytical resources and training Clarivate Analytics (Kiev) mentioned the need of scientists in some advice while working with international scientometric databases Daria Prosiana spoke about the measures of familiarizing with the Web of Science scientometric platform within the framework of shaping the information culture of students, which is developed and conducted by the library of ZNU.
All participants emphasized the content of the conference, which showed the ability of modern libraries in the creative transformation and transformation of the library space of the universities in the country.
