Recently, on the basis of the ZNU Sports and Recreation Complex, the Ukrainian Boxing Cup among men in different weight categories was held in ZNU with the participation of leading athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine.
These are the first competitions of this level in boxing in Zaporizhzhia, which are held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the executive committee of Zaporizhzhia city council, Boxing Federation of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia city boxing federation, Zaporizhzhia regional branch of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine, Ukrainian League of Boxing Clubs and Sports Club “Horta” and leadership of ZNU. In addition, this tournament is held to promote and develop boxing, as well as to attract young people to sports.
The closing ceremony of the competition was attended by the representatives of the leadership of our region, the university administration and famous athletes. In particular, the vice-rector of ZNU for scientific work Hennadii Vasylchuk congratulated the winners from the management of ZNU and presented the awards, wishing them further sporting victories.
In total, the championship was attended by 150 young and promising boxers from different cities of Ukraine, who met in the ring at ZNU and demonstrated a high level of training. It should be mentioned that these competitions are an opportunity to gain sports experience, to improve qualifications and to prepare for participation in European competitions.
In the end of the competition, the best athletes of all weight categories were awarded with cups, medals and certificates.
