On March 30, the first graduation of the listeners of the courses “Psychological and pedagogical support of children and young people with special needs in an inclusive educational environment” took place, which were organized on the basis of the postgraduate education center of Zaporizhzhia National University. Certificates of professional development of pedagogical workers were awarded by the program manager Yevhenii Klopotа, doctor of psychological sciences, professor of the Department of pedagogy and psychology of educational activities, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine.

He noted that Zaporizhzhia National University is the most powerful institution of higher education in the region, where every specialist can always find support and get the necessary advice on topical issues of introduction an inclusive educational space. He also wished graduates to keep creating a barrier-free educational environment, to increase the level of readiness of professors and parents to perceive students with special needs as equal partners.

Yevhenii Klopotа noted that the main goal of the courses is to acquire professional competence of teachers, teaching assistances, social workers, practical psychologists based on the introduction of innovative technologies. In the course of their work, the participants master the theoretical and methodological foundations of the organization of an inclusive educational space and the scientific and methodological aspects of interaction with the participants of an inclusive educational space. In turn, participants in advanced training courses noted the value of various interactive classes, which combined theoretical and practical aspects.

Recently, the process of ensuring accessibility of education for students with special needs and their further professional self-realization has become increasingly important. However, there are a large number of obstacles in the process of introducing inclusive education in Ukraine.  Among the main ones is the psychological and pedagogical unpreparedness of specialists to carry out professional activities in the conditions of an inclusive educational space.

Now there is a recruitment for the following advanced training courses for teaching staff “Psychological and pedagogical support for children and young people with special needs in an inclusive educational environment.”
