Representatives of ZNU took the next planned step in the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 DESTIN project. The first was a study visit to the Bath Spa University (UK) in January this year. Recently, a teaching delegation consisting of associate professors of the Department of Journalism Yuri Kostiuk, Pavlo Miroshnychenko and Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova went on a study visit to Linnaeus University and the Fojo Media Institute (Kalmar, Sweden).

On the first day of the visit, several important introductory meetings were held. ZNU teachers, in particular, joined the lecture-discussion on "Challenges journalism today", moderated by the Education and Training Manager of the Fojo Media Institute Nina Hjelmgren. She acquainted the audience with the principles of teaching in Fojo, expressed her views on the problem of modern journalism, exchanged views with the audience on threats in modern theoretical and practical areas of journalism.

The second half of the day was dedicated to visiting the local media in Kalmar: the newspaper "Barometern" and the radio station "P4". During these meetings, there were discussed current trends in the practical work of the Swedish media, methods of interaction with the audience, journalistic rights, responsibilities and threats in work.

The next day, the participants of the Erasmus + KA2 DESTIN project were acquainted with the technical and material resources of the Linnaeus University: they visited radio, photo and TV studios, editing and production rooms. In the afternoon, partners from Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland) shared their experience of teaching and held the presentation about the challenges in the work of the AMU Faculty of Journalism.

The agenda of the last working day of the trip consisted of meetings with the Linnaeus University’s media program directors, the representative of the international department, and the director of the Fojo Media Institute Kersti Forsberg. The goal of these meetings was exchanging of experience on methods of teaching, requirements to journalism students and teachers, and features of mastering practical skills and competencies. Very important also was information about the specifics of attracting foreign and international exchange students to a university. It should be noted that the acquired knowledge and information will be used for improving study processes at the Faculty of Journalism of ZNU, and aligning them with best teaching practices and European journalism standards.
