On February 11, the Ukrainian partners of the Erasmus + KA2 project consortium “Development of foreign language teacher training capacity as a way to implement multilingual education and European integration of Ukraine (MultiEd)” met with invited experts: Iryna Zolotaryova (National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and Zhanna Talanova (National Erasmus + office in Ukraine). Oleksandra Golovko, project coordinator and manager from the University of Tartu (Estonia) moderated the event. The Ukrainian partnership was represented by 58 participants from 8 universities: Zaporizhzhya National University, V.O. Sukhomlynskyi National University of Mykolaiv, Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, State Higher Educational Institution “Donbas State Pedagogical University”, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, State Higher Educational Establishment "Precarpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk".

Zaporizhzhya National University team was represented by Svitlana Zapolskykh, Coordinator, Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of English Translation, Kateryna Vasylyna, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Language, Olha Kanibolotska, Head of the Faculty of Foreign Language Methodological Council, Tetyana Kozlova, Professor of English Philology Chair, Nataliia Nadtochii, Associate Professor of English Philology Chair, Mariia Hladysh, Associate Professor of Social Pedagogy Chair.

The agenda covered the urgent needs of Ukrainian universities related to the renewal of Bachelor's and Master's Study Programmes for students majoring in 035 Philology, specialization 035.041 German languages and literatures (translation inclusive), and 014.02 Secondary education.

At the beginning of the seminar Iryna Zolotaryova, a member of NAQA, presented a typical structure of the educational and professional programme, explained the correlation between competencies (general and special) and learning outcomes, highlighted the specifics of study programmes, stressed the importance of creating matrix with relevant courses, competencies and learning outcomes. Then, Zhanna Talanova, NEO representative in Ukraine, spoke in detail about the purpose of student-centred syllabus, its structure and its compliance with study programmes and curricula.

The next stage of the meeting was to discuss problematic issues of Ukrainian partners, which they submitted beforehand. Experts Irina Zolotaryova and Zhanna Talanova focused on the ways to solve various problems that arise in the process of programme design and accreditation, namely: the specifics of educational and professional programmes, curricula issues, their compliance with the educational standards; taking into account the basis of European experience in updating the study programmes, course programmes and curricula, deadlines of programme design, evaluation, documentation approval, etc. Issues related to stakeholder categories and the establishment of cooperation between universities and employers were especially important for Ukrainian partners.

As a result of the seminar, the partners decided to continue to follow the outlined plan (update study programmes and curricula), taking into account the information received from the representatives of NAQA and NEO. Representatives of the consortium also consider it appropriate for European partners to share their experience in creating programmes and syllabi, so such seminar is scheduled for February 18, 2021.
