October 5 Zaporizhzhya National University representatives took part in the celebration of 243 anniversary of the foundation of Zaporizhzhya and 70th anniversary of the liberation of the city from fascist occupation, as well as traditional Pokrovska Fair. According to a tradition specialists of the Center for cultural and mass work and the Division of Educational work of ZNU prepared a concert program and organized a greeting for the holiday guests.
By Presidential Decree № 546/2013 from 4 October 2013 "On conferring state awards of Ukraine on the occasion of the Teachers' Day" for the significant contribution to the development of national education, the training of qualified specialists, fruitful many years teaching career, professionalism, Dean of the Faculty of Social Pedagogics and Psychology of ZNU Olga Ponomarenko was awarded by the honorary title "Honored worker of Education of Ukraine".
