During the meeting of the Academic Council Director of Trade College A.Oleinik made a report on the current state and development trends of the institution, which is the part of ZNU structure. In his speech, there was talk of four specialties that are accredited by the educational and qualification level "junior specialist"; contingent of students, material and technological base, as well as close working relationships with schools, vocational schools, trade and restaurant business enterprises.
The representatives of the primary trade union organization of ZNU invite unionists to visit the city events buying tickets at a discount. The trade union offers to visit Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic and New Theatre, visit the skating-rink and spend a few days in Lviv.
In accordance with the Rector's order № 564 from 12.30.15 "On approval of a model contract for the provision of educational services" in Zaporizhzhia National University since January 1, 2016 new enrolment contracts have been concluded.
January 28 a seminar "Raising the level of professional competence of physics teachers via adoption of high technologies" for physics teachers of schools, vocational-technical schools and universities I-II levels of accreditation was held at the premises of Faculty of Physics of Zaporizhzhia National University . The event was attended by more than 50 physics teachers.
Reconditioning works, started in the winter, continue on the territory of buildings and dormitories of ZNU. Thus, in the 2nd university building is nearing completion of work on the modernization of staircase in the right wing of the building and current minor repairs and replacement of water pipes continue in dormitories №3 and №4.

Ukrainian Boxing Championship among juniors, youth and women took place in Kryvyi Rih. 1st year student of the specialty "physical education" of Economics and Law College of ZNU Olga Shalimova won the gold medal of the championship. Sportswoman became the champion of Ukraine among juniors in the weight category up to 46 kg.
Yurii Kaganov, associate professor, candidate of historical sciences, head of the department of post-graduate and doctoral studies, summed up the results of work of seven specialized scientific councils of Zaporizhzhya National University for 2015 at the meeting of the Academic Council of ZNU. In accordance with par. 4.11 Regulation on specialized scientific council, approved by the Ministry of education and science, youth and sports of Ukraine of 14.09.2011, № 1059 (as amended), specialized academic councils provide annual reports on their work to the Academic Council of the higher education institution in which they are formed. Yurii Kaganov outlined the challenges and opportunities of the activities of specialized scientific councils of the University based on the analysis of these reports.
January 22 at the Faculty of Economics of ZNU thesis defense in the specialty "Economics of Environment and Natural Resources" took place for the first time. No less important for the members of the faculty became the thesis defense of Master's Degree Students in the specialty "International Economics", which took place January 20. All magistrands showed a high level of knowledge and a responsible attitude to their own researches.
