Recently, in the Romanian city of Pitesti has been held the International Scientific Symposium “Current trends in Nature Science”.  ZNU was one of the organizers of this important international event.

Recently, the masters of the Faculty of Biology of ZNU have been awarded diplomas in a solemn atmosphere. On this day, almost 140 masters biologists received diplomas, 17 of them were with honors. It is worth noting that some of the graduate students received two diplomas at once, as they were studying in different specialties at the same time in full-time and part-time departments.

On February 5, celebrations on the occasion of the completion of the project “Familiar Strangers” took place on the Faculty of Biology of ZNU. It should be remembered that on the territory of the campus of Zaporizhzhia National University, there are signs with unique QR codes on the trees and bushes.  Now, using the capabilities of smartphones, everyone will be able to get all the necessary information about these plants in Ukrainian and English.

Plenty of attention is paid to project activities and successful implementation of grant programs on the Biological Faculty of Zaporizhzhia national university. So, until today ZNU continues to work on the implementation of the received grant within the framework of the social project "We are a city", which was won this summer.

Information Day of the program "Horizon 2020" has been held in Brussels (Belgium) recently. Zaporizhzhia national university was represented by the associate professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Genetics, head of the project department Olena Boika.

According to information from the director of the project activities department, vice-dean of the Faculty of Biology in international work, senior professor of the forest management department and genetics Olena Boika who was the responsible of the project’s work “Familiar strangers” has said that ZNU is going to realize the project of establishment the panels with tree QR-codes which are located in the campus.

According to the words of Yurii Kahanov, the vice-rector for science and pedagogical work, the university gave a proposition to realize the project “Familiar strangers” (No. 117 in the list of competitive works-social initiatives “We are a city”), which includes establishment of panels with QR-codes next to the trees which are growing on the territory of Zaporizhzhia national university as many of them are quite rare and brought from others continents.

Recently, deputy dean of the Biological Faculty for International Work, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Gardening and Genetics Olena Boika took part in the international scientific conference "Plant Biology Europe-2018" recently held in Copenhagen (Denmark).

Recently, deputy dean of the Biological Faculty for International Work, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Gardening and Genetics Olena Boyka returned from Erasmus + program in Romania at the University of Pitesti.

The purpose of delegation's visit was to discuss the prospects of cooperation with representatives of our university administration. Vice-rector for scientific work Gennadiy Vasilchuk chaired the meeting.
