The twenty-seventh of November at Zaporizhzhya National University, the members of Zaporizhzhya branch of the Center of German Law, students of the Faculty of Law, held a round table dedicated to the history and present day of law in Germany. The topic of discussion was the history of formation and contemporary functions of constitutional and legislative body at the federal level in Federal Republic of Germany – Bundestag. The initiator and organizer of the event was the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Tetyana Kolomoyets.

The Year of English in Ukraine proclaimed by the President of Ukraine on the initiative of the public activities GoGlobal, is coming to an end. The representatives of the Faculty of Law who were active participants on 28 December 2016 summed up their work.

In the framework of the events dedicated to the St. Nicholas Day and Christmas, a magical game "Christmas Britain Battle" took place at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. In such a way students presented their creative individual task for the second foreign language (English) under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Second Language Studies Larysa Pinchuk. The second year students of the same Department were also invited, and they did a good job.

Representatives of the Faculty of Law of Zaporizhzhya National University joined the online broadcast of the public lecture of the Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the U.S. attorney in retirement Bohdan Vitvitsky (USA) on the topic: "The rule of law: so critically important, yet so elusive?". The event was held in the lectorium of the Academic building of the Ukrainian Catholic University. It was a part of a series of lectures UCU "Rule of Law Lecture Series" from leading American lawyers devoted to the actual challenges and problems in the field of consolidation of the rule of law, justice and fairness.

December 16, at the initiative of the Arab center in Ukraine and the Department of World History and International Relations, on the basis of ZNU Faculty of History was held a round-table meeting dedicated to the Arabic Language Day. The meeting was opened by the head of Department, Associate Professor Olha Maklyuk and the President of the Association of National Minorities of Zaporizhzhya region, Dr. Naufal Khamdani. The guests of the event were congratulated by the Director of the State Center of International Education under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Olena Shapovalova. It should be mentioned that today the Arabic language is one of six official languages of the United Nations. It is also one of the most spoken languages in the world, which undoubtedly deserves attention.

Yesterday, the twelfth of December in the classroom 224 of ZNU academic building №2, students of the Faculty of Law took part in a video conference with a world-renowned scholar, lecturer of the University of Oxford, Dr. Jeffery West. Via Skype connection, future lawyers attended a fascinating lecture from academic’s authorial course "Importance of critical thinking for lawyers".

At the invitation of the Rule of Law Center at the Ukrainian Catholic University in cooperation with the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission on 5 December in the conference hall of UCU was held a presentation of the objectives and current activities of the OSCE Mission to Ukraine. The event was attended by students and researchers, lawyers, representatives of civil society and those interested in the activities of the OSCE SMM in our country. ZNU students of the Faculty of Law also joined the event in the format of video conference.

November 30 in the lecture hall of the Academic building of the Ukrainian Catholic University, the representatives of the professional legal environment, academics, law students attended a public lecture of Professor Alan Riley from City University London (London, England). The speech on the topic "Nord Stream 2: Legal and Policy Analysis in the framework of EU-Russia energy relations. Implications for Ukraine". At the invitation of the UCU Rule of Law Center law students of ZNU were able to listen to the online broadcast of the presentation and to put their questions to the speaker.

The seventh of October VIII International scientific conference “Foreign Philology in the XXI century” began its work in Zaporizhzhya National University. This time 150 application forms were received. Among others, there were 3 foreigners, Doctors of Science from Belarus, Germany and Uzbekistan, and 14 professors from leading national universities. Besides, the event expressed a wish to participate in the event associate professors, doctoral students, graduate students, master’s students and students from 19 Ukrainian cities. Another feature of a current conference was that the organizers timed it to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the ZNU Faculty of Foreign Languages.

At the Faculty of Law of the National University of Zaporizhzhya was held a round-table meeting “Peculiarities of the conclusion of external-economic contracts”. The event was attended by: guests of the faculty – practicing lawyers Dmytro Hladkyy and Dmytro Yatsenko, associate professor Pavlo Lyutikov, master’s students and those who will receive a Specialist Diploma.
