The European Weightlifting Championship among juniors and youth took place in Poland. Four representatives of the Zaporizhzhia region, as part of the Ukrainian team, took part in the competition. The first day of the competition became quite successful for sportsmen from Zaporizhzhia as the bronze medalist of the European Championship in the 56 kg weight category became a student of Zaporizhzhia national university Dmytro Voronovskyi, who in total showed the result of 235 kg-104 kg jerk and 131 kg of push.

This year they had the opportunity to combine internship with a summer internship from May to October. At this time, they received important practical skills and abilities, increased the level of their professional skills under the guidance of regional directors, managers, administrators and specialists of tour-operator companies and hotels.

Ukrainian weightlifting championship among men and women has been held in Lviv recently. The team from Zaporizhzhia region took the fourth place among men, and 13 among women within 22 teams.

Graduate student of Zaporizhzhia national university Oleksandr Nadtoka defended the honor of Ukraine as part of the paired four in the city of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) where the World Rowing Championship was held.

The lecturer of the physical culture department of our university, the head of the sport section Daria Vaniuk was invited by the sport club of  “Lviv Polytechnic National University” to took part in the European Volleyball Championship among veterans +35 as part of the Ukrainian volleyball team.

Canoe marathon masters world cup was held in Portugal (Vila de Prado) from 6 to 9 September. Student of ZNU Liudmyla Babak came to the finish line first in the race at the marathon in the distance of 15.4 km among women. The sportswoman confirmed her leadership and became a two-time world champion at the marathon distances.

Olexandr Nadtoka, the master of sport of international class of rowing, champion and current record holder of the world, studies in the graduate school of Zaporizhzhia national university, successfully presented Ukraine in Men’s Quadruple Sculls in European Rowing Championship (Glasgow, Great Britain).
