On May 20 there was the grand opening of the memorial board to the famous Zaporizhzhya historian Professor Anatoliy Boyko in ZNU. He was the Head of the Chair of Sources Studies, Historiography and special Historical Disciplines, a founder of the Zaporizhzhya research school of Ukrainian Step of ХVIII – beginning of XX centuries. He passed away on December 27, 2010. This event occurred within the All-Ukrainian conference.
On May 19 the free training for ZNU students and staff ended. They were organized by the Business Education Center along with City Fund of Entrepreneurship Support and were in such directions as "Techniques of Business Strategic Negotiating" and "Managing of Difficult Negotiating".
On May 19 the students of the ZNU Journalism Department had a meeting with Andriy Kulykov, the anchorman of the "Freedom of Speech" TV-program. Mr. Kulykov and Zaporizhzhya journalist Olga Vakalo gave lecture for the students.
On May 19 in Zaporizhzhya National University there was the honored meeting of the Academic Council devoted to the closing the Science Festival and celebrating of 80th anniversary of ZNU. The honored guests from city authorities visited the university. The presentation of the jubilee book Zaporizhzhya National University: History and Present Day (1930-2010) was held too.
On May 16 in the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine there was the meeting of the heads of the student scientific societies of the Ukrainian higher educational establishments. The meeting named Scientific Activities of students as Priority of Higher Education was organized by the All-Ukrainian Student Council of the Ministry. The head of the ZNU Scientific Society of students and Graduates Svitlana Siritsa, the members of ZNU Youth Scientific Council, and the representatives of Law Department (Vitaliy Kharkov and Mykhailo Bambyzov) were invited to the meeting. Overall 120 participants visited the event.
The group of the young experts of the project "Europe in the Suitcase" visited Zaporizhzhya National University.
The presentation of the book «Hymn Ocheretyanykh Khlopchykiv» (Hymn of the Cane Boys) was held at the Philological Department. This book of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya poets devoted to the memory of Volodymyr Buryak and Vlad Klen.
