Recently, a team of Zaporizhzhia National University has made a week-long working visit to the UK, where participated in a conference of a three-year project on the Erasmus+ KA2 DESTIN program at the Bath Spa University.
On February 1, 2019, on the initiative of professors of the English Philology Department, Ganna Prihodko and Tetyana Kozlova, the agreement was signed between Polonia University in Częstochowa (Poland) and Zaporizhzhia National University.
Representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University are now in the University of Bath Spa (Bath, UK), where from 30 January to 6 February 2019 the founding conference of the Erasmus+ project (direction KA2) "Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism DESTIN” takes place.
Thanks to the support of Chinese professors on the basis of ZNU, the opening of the first Confucius School in Zaporizhzhia region was held. It is taught by experienced native speakers who are well acquainted with the methods of teaching language to foreigners and speak English. Therefore, such classes, according to the testimony of students of the Confucius School, are not only very interesting, but also informative and quite useful.
The graduate students in the specialty “Law” continue to present their diploma paper on the Law Faculty of ZNU. This year, about a hundred people successfully presented their scientific work in Ukrainian, English and Polish.
An annual meeting of vice-rectors for the scientific work of higher educational institutions, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, took place in Kyiv. Zaporizhzhia National University at the event was represented by vice-rector, professor Hennadii Vasylchuk. During the event, those present heard a report by the Council on the results of the activities of universities in the outgoing year and the prospects for further development of the educational sector in our country.
On December 19, a delegation from the Chinese partner of the university as Anhui Pedagogical University (Wuhu, Anhui Province, China) visited ZNU with a working visit. Vice-Rector of Anhui Pedagogical University Lu Lin, Dean of the Faculty of International Exchanges and Cooperation Huang Shenghihong, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Zhang Derang, Head of the Russian Language Department Ren Lisia and Director of the International Exchanges and Cooperation Division Li Yming met with ZNU Rector Mykola Frolov and administration representatives, took part in celebrations at the Confucius School. And also they familiarized with the material and technical base of the university and discussed the prospects for expanding further cooperation between Zaporizhzhia and Chinese universities.
On December 7-8, the Second Ukrainian Women's Congress took place in Kyiv. During the event stressed that today the great attention is paid to the introduction and ensuring gender equality at the highest level in Ukraine. The importance of this issue was noted by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman. During the congress, international experts from the USA, Canada, France, Croatia, Australia, representatives of NATO, as well as Ukrainian representatives of parliament, government, civil society, business, media and higher education institutions shared their experience. ZNU at the international event was represented by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Educational Activities, Head of the Center for Gender Education of ZNU Tetiana Holovanova.
Recently, a scientific seminar “Urban studios in Ukraine: urban space and symbolic images of Zaporizhzhia” has been held on the basis of the history department. The event was held in the framework of the international scientific project "Practices of self-representation of a multinational city in the industrial and post-industrial era", which is carried out with the support of the the Kowalsky Program of Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies of University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada).
