October 20, at the invitation of the Pro-rector for Research, Professor Hennadiy Vasyl'chuk, Zaporizhzhya National University was visited by honorary guests: the Head of the Postgraduate Centre of Vilnius University (Lithuania) Taurimas Valys, the head of the Department of Strategic Development of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vilnius Androne Masandukayte, and the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Zaporizhzhya Dmytro Antonyuk.

Workshop on international internships held for biology students

At the Faculty of Biology of ZNU was held a meeting for the students of 3-5 courses with the professor of the Department of park and garden establishment and genetics of plants, Candidate of Biological Sciences Hanna Levchuk, who from Dec 2014 (with breaks) was undertaking an internship in Portugal for the project “Erasmus Mundus Partnerships – Electra Project”.

Lawyers of ZNU participate in the international seminar “Human dignity in the law of Germany, Poland and Ukraine”

Two representatives of the Faculty of Law of Zaporizhzhya National University, the Dean, Professor Tetyana Kolomoyets' and the Associate Professor of constitutional and labor law Mykola Martynov, October 10-11, visited the international German-Polish-Ukrainian seminar “Human dignity in the law of Germany, Poland and Ukraine” (Kyiv). The event was held in the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the meeting Ukrainian and foreign lawyers shared their experience on the results of the international legal practice in this branch of law, also participated in the discussion with foreign experts on the problems of the new field of the Ukrainian law activities.

Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology visited by American lecturer Jimmy Hill

On 10-13 October, a specialist in criminal psychology Jimmy Hill delivered at the Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology a series of lectures to the students of the 2-5 courses and the magisters of psychology. The teachers of the Department of Psychology also attend the event: the head of the Department Nataliya Huba, the associate professors Larysa Spitsyna, Olga Ishchuk, Oksana Lukasevych. The coordinator of the event was the Associate Dean for International Affairs Nataliya Mosol.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroysman answers questions about future of Ukraine

During a visit to Zaporizhzhya National University the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman not only gave a lecture to University staff and representatives of local media about the priorities of Ukraine's development, but also answered numerous questions from the audience. Those present at the event took advantage of the invitation of the rector of ZNU, Professor Mykola Frolov, who noted that in our University there was a democratic tradition: anyone could ask the honorary guest questions on relevant topics. The audience wanted to know Volodymyr Hroysman’s opinion on topical issues of politics, economy and ecology. However, there were some less serious questions, particularly about the student years of the Prime Minister, to which he responded humorously.

ZNU visited by Professors Otto and Florence Dreger

The eleventh of October at the Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology was held a meeting of teachers and students with the Canadian Professors Otto and Florence Dreger. This year the Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology celebrates 25 years, and active collaboration with Canadian partners has been continuing almost all of this period. The session was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty Olga Ponomarenko, who along with the representatives of the Department of Social Pedagogy, summed up a longstanding Canadian-Ukrainian cooperation.
