Online training seminars were held for three weeks from June 12 to June 29, 2023 under the auspices of the “MultiEd” project “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration” of the Erasmus+ KA2 program. The webinars were held in Ukrainian, examples were given from other languages.
On June 16, 2023, a meeting of managers and coordinators of the international Erasmus+ KA2 project MultiEd “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration” took place. The project ends on November 14, 2023, and it is necessary to sum up the preliminary results. The partners presented package reports on the performed activities, commented on the changes that were inevitable under the conditions of martial law, and discussed the prospects for solving the problems.
Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU, Zaporizhzhia National University) has been participating in the MultiEd project of the Erasmus+ program of the KA2 (Capacity Building in Higher Education) for three years. A 5-day visit from May 22 to 26 to Estonia was called "Estonia as Education Nation". The ZNU was represented by participants from the Chair of English Philology and Linguodidactics Doctor of Sci. in Philology, Assoc. Prof. Iryna Galutskykh, Candidate of Sci. in Philology, Assoc. Prof. Oksana Shevchuk and from the Chair of Second Foreign Language Teaching Candidate of Sci. in Philology, Assoc. Prof. Hanna Vanina. The study visit program for the group of teachers from eight Ukrainian HEIs-partners was devoted to the study of Estonia's experience in the field of multilingual education.
From March 20 to April 30, on the Moodle platform of the Zaporizhzhia National University, 95 teachers of general secondary educational institutions and university teachers of Zaporizhzhia and the region successfully completed the online course "CLIL Methodology" and received certificates of professional development.
The representatives of the Department of Journalism of ZNU returned from Poznań (Poland), where the final meeting of the governing board of the international project of the European Union ERASMUS+KA2 "Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism" (DESTIN) was held at the Adam Mickiewicz University. The dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Viktor Kostyuk, and associate professors of the Department of Journalism, Yulia Liubchenko and Olena Usmanova represented ZNU team.
From November 7 to 11 representatives of the consortium from the University of Heidelberg: Ph.D., Professor Hans-Werner Hüneke, Ph.D., Professor Yuta Remarczyk, and Imola Czolbe organized a study visit to Heidelberg, Germany for all partners of the MultiEd team. The trip was organized with the support of Tartu University project managers Oleksandra Golovko and Christian Klauks.
Teachers, students and postgraduates of the Faculty of Journalism of ZNU joined the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Journalism of the Future: challenges, trends, prospects of development ". The online event was held at Ivan Franko Lviv National University. The conference was a unique outcome of the implementation of the large-scale international project of the European Union ERASMUS+KA2 " Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism (DESTIN)", which was implemented in 10 Ukrainian institutions of higher education that train specialists and professionals in the field of journalism for four years. Among them was the Faculty of Journalism of ZNU.
Zaporizhzhia National University continues to develop fruitful cooperation with foreign universities for implementation of international educational standards in Ukraine. The University of Tartu (Estonia) is one of the important partners of Zaporizhzhia National University.
