On May 30 the seminar devoted to the EU politics in Ukraine aimed to the Ukrainian journalists and the Journalism Department' students started in Zaporizhzhya National University. The Ukrainian and European experts shared their thoughts about the European integration of Ukraine.
The seminar is supported by the Conrad Adenauer Fund and Academy of Ukrainian Press (AUP). The Director of the Media Reforms Center Lyudmila Gumenyuk, the AUP President Dr. of Philological Sci., Prof. of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University Valeriy Ivanov, Conrad Adenauer Fund Assistant Anna Rozhnyatovska, and the Branch Head of the Conrad Adenauer Fund in Ukraine Niko Lange participated in the seminar.
During the first part of the seminar the participants were informed about the EU institutions and UE-Ukrainian relations, the Lisbon Agreement statements.
«The accepting of Ukraine to UE is not the political mater and never will be one, – said the AUP President Dr. V. Ivanov. – Ukraine is not interesting for EU as a trade partner.
All the signed agreements about cooperation don't mean the accepting of our country by EU».
New model of Ukrainian integration to EU is developed now: firstly the economic cooperation, free trade zone, and then - actual accepting.
On May 31 the participants will have discussion of the media reforms in Ukraine according to the European standards and the meeting with the Branch Head of the Conrad Adenauer Fund in Ukraine Niko Lange.
