January, 25 student active body across all the higher education institutions in Zaporizhzhya has gathered in Tetianyn Den (Tetiana’s Day) student coffee house, to celebrate Student Day and Tetiana's Day. The event, planned and organized by the Department of education and science, youth and sports, Municipal Council, Centre for after-class and student affairs, Student Council (ZNU), Department for educational affairs (ZNU), was visited by students, teachers and its special guests.
Olexander Sin, a municipal mayor has addressed the students with congratulations, having mentioned some facts from the tsar’s edict on Student Day celebration and stressed the idea that students should study but take time to relax as well: “This is the most awesome period in your life. So I wish you to clearly and properly outline your objectives and find a niche for yourself in the community”. Vice mayor Yuriy Kaptiukh joined in the general stream of congratulations. 
Rector’s Offices, represented with Olexander Bondar, acting rector of ZNU, Sergiy Belikov, rector of ZNTU and chairman of Rectors Council, Andriy Bondarenko, students’ mayor and student council chairman, ZNU have also greeted the event participants.
In his greeting speech Olexander Bondar has stated: “University days are the best time filled with romance. So strive for essential skills and knowledge and achieve your high-flying goals. You deserve the better future that you’re creating yet now for yourself, your family, your local community and our country land! ” The celebration was launched with the history background, when the first university has been established in Russia in 1775. The event was followed by polonaise, Gaudeamus student anthem, comical skomorokhs (traveling minstrels in Russia), songs by Kantilena studio, favourite “A Student” song - informal students’ anthem. Dance groups D.A.L.S., Zagadka and dance team of ZNU performed their programme to the guests. , 
Andriy Bondarenko, student council chairman invited all the dancers to take part in 2nd round of student battle which would be held on February, 23 and also everyone willing to participate in the benefit night on January, 29 in MIX night-club, 19.00. The money raised at the event would have been transferred to account of the undergraduate of ZNU, being in intensive care at the moment.
All the guests were treated to the huge delicious cake and the girls named Tetiana received presents from Olexander Sin.
As special guests Olexander Sin and Igor Philipenko were awarded with the certificates of Ever-young Student on behalf of student community in Zaporizhzhya.The event was finished with a dance party.
