Workshop at the Faculty of Law held by Administration of Culture and Arts of Zaporizhzhya Municipal Council

01.03.2012 10:16 All Faculties Law Faculty of Law

Vice chairman of Administration of Culture and Arts Ludmyla Vysotska has visited the Faculty of Law. She carried out workshop to students on lawyers' practice specifics in state-run organisations.

At the beginning of the meeting Ludmyla Vysotska mentioned that she has 20 years’ experience of working in local government and is currently finishing her postgraduate studies to obtain diploma and qualification in Law. So she is quite qualified and is aware of all the ins and outs of lawyers’ practice at the departments and municipal council administrations.
As to the advantages, to the expert’s opinion, the graduate of Law Faculty lacking practical skills and experience finds it far more easier to get employed at the public service, compared to private organisations. Drawbacks are viewed in practical orientation of the lawyers working at Law agencies of Administrations and Departments. From the first day at the service the lawyers must be equally competent in legislation and be able to apply it in drawing up internal documents, settling conflicts or filing a lawsuit which is a rather complicated task if you lack professional experience.
Providing examples from the personal practice Mrs. Vysotska has highlighted the moments which can attract the graduates of Law, information on the steps to be taken in order to apply for civil service etc. The meeting was also visited by undergraduate students.
Upon the end of the session the guest was awarded with Acknowledgement Certificate signed by Faculty of Law dean Tetiana Kolomoiets.
