ZNU Sociologists to assist children with special needs on a weekly basis

Every Saturday professionals from the Faculty of Social Pedagogics and Psychology provide trainings to volunteers to help children with special needs. Training classes are open for everyone willing and take place at the Laboratory for Curative Pedagogy (campus building # 8, room 101,)

Both Faculty volunteers and students of Classic Private University, Faculty of Social Work are engaged with the trainings held by the Laboratory head Natalia Mamay.
Trainings were launched within pilot-project on “Counselor for a child with special needs”, announced by “Zaporizhzhya Municipal Congress of Disabled Persons” Charity Fund and Zaporizhzhya National University. After each series of trainings volunteers meet with children at foster and secondary school # 2 in Vilnansk.
Course on “Volunteers’ mental readiness to work with children with special needs” is aimed at destroying stereotypic attitude towards disabled persons. The programme course is visited by everyone caring for children and willing to share their love and kindness with the little ones.
