March, 24 UkrTweet BarCamp was held in ZNU. It is the third time that social network users gather at the University. They arrived from different parts of Ukraine and even abroad to exchange the experience, get information on new opportunities offered by Twitter and interact with each other in a real world.

Periodically, the get-togethers of twitterers are taking place in almost all the big cities of Ukraine. They give parties or go out for picnics and have a lot more of Twitter-related events, though UkrTweet in Zaporizhzhya is on the special list and enjoys popularity in social networking services.
According to the event organiser Daria Karelina, the idea of launching BarCamp in Zaporizhzhya emerged quite out of the blue. Having registered at Twitter she suggested her colleagues, also Twitterers, to meet at their spare time. It was planned to discuss online communication specifics, get more information on the career opportunities and face-to-face interaction offered by the Internet-community. The idea was taken up by the Twitterers from other cities and even countries. In the aftermath, UkrTweet was for the first time held at ZNU.
Within that period the role social networks play in all the spheres of social life, has grown with the increase of Twitter users in number, mostly youth who are keeping their eye on information technologies and innovations. Yet, a range of widely-known companies are eager to have their own account in the network.
This was mentioned in the welcome speech of vice rector for research and teaching affairs, Professor Volodymyr Volkov, who also expressed his hope for the ongoing cooperation of UkrTweet with Zaporizhzhya National University as the institution is the pace-setting higher education institution in the region showing preference to ITs.
The BarCamp framework previewed informal communication, new acquaintances, engaging contests and quests. Meanwhile, a number of attendees arrived here to pick out some useful information, real-life experience shared by the Internet users across Ukrainian and Russian cities. The reports delivered at the session were dedicated to how one can take advantage of Twitter to not only communicate, but also gather information, acquire experience and build one’s career.
