Experienced journalists gave trainings in Radio Journalism for ZNU students

Taras Shevchenko National University (Kyiv), Institute of Journalism Professor Volodymyr Rizun and Department of Social Communications lecturer Kostiantyn Shenderovskyi have visited Faculty of Journalism, ZNU to give trainings in Radio Journalism

Within trainings’ framework students of Journalism created real-life University Radio Editorial Office ‘Social Medium’.

Before taking to journalistic activity itself, students were given a content-rich lecture by Volodymyr Rizun on Information Resources and captivating report of Kostiantyn Shenderovskyi on 'Social Medium’ and ‘Health’ concepts’ sense in the life of any community member. Kostiantyn Shenderovskyi has also shared some professional pieces of advice on social problematic issues.

Then the work began: the journalists were picking out events on the Internet, communicating with the sources that could provide qualified commentary on specific events, writing their materials with the following radio package recording.  World Health Day was selected as the major event.

Students have been working for six consecutive hours in real time in order to craft their news release, thus having the opportunity to practice their skills as journalists and better comprehend news-making procedure and types of work in editorial office.

As an outcome, students-made news release will be launched on air via operating radio station.
