Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students Scientific Society (UPSSS) to take part in All-Ukrainian Conference on Students Self-government
Recently All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practice Conference on “Students Self-government: experience, problems and development prospects” was held at Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy (ZSEA). The event was organised by the Committee for Family and Youth Affairs of Municipal Council, All-Ukrainian Students Council under the Ministry of Education and Science and ZSEA Students Scientific Society. Among the participants were also representatives of UPSSS (ZNU).
All in all the scientific event was attended by over 150 participants across different parts of Ukraine - Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Nizhyn, Odesa, Kharkiv, Ternopil and Lutsk. Plenary session was opened by ZSEA rector Volodymyr Pozhuyev, who stressed the ultimate significance of further students’ self-government development to enhance democratic processes in Ukrainian society.
With her report on “Elaborating students’ scientific and research activities in Zaporizhzhya National University” took the floor ZNU UPSSS chairman Svitlana Dobroskok, who was also moderating small group session on “Students’self-government and civil society development”. Special attention was drawn to report of ZNU student of Law Ksenia Miasniankina on “Specifics of cooperation between students and local self-government structures”.
UPSSS Coordinating Council secretary Oleksandra Chirka revealed psychological aspect of students’ motivation to be engaged in UPSSS activities.
In her turn ZNU UPSSS deputy chairman Kateryna Poliakova was speaking on information coverage provided by the Scientific Society.
