Zaporizhzhya National University has participated in the 5th International Environment-2012 Exhibition within the framework of International ‘Environment for Ukraine’ Environmental Forum, held in Kyiv.
Experts from the Laboratory of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, guided by Vice Rector for Maintenance Affairs offered their achievements in energy saving domain to Ukrainian audience. The laboratory staff has elaborated a package of measures, with their gradual implementation allowing to ensure comfortable conditions for students and University staff and also provide economic use of heat energy.
Due to more precise prognosticating of consumption volume and heat energy economy it became possible to direct considerably larger amount of own funds to modernize and re-fit University campus buildings to meet System Requirements under limited budget financing.
Besides, carbon dioxide emissions have been notably reduced, which has a positive effect to the state of environment. Introducing computer control and management system has allowed for more flexible opportunities to optimize heat, hot water supply and other engineer systems in ZNU.
All the control algorithms elaborated by ZNU Laboratory of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving can be regarded more sophisticated to compare with existing prototypes.
