International Mother Language Day is an observance held annually on 21 February worldwide to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. Traditionally this day is festive for Zaporizhzhya National University too. This year celebration was held under the slogan "Indifferent to Mother Language Man is Similar to Savage".

Celebration's script writer Olena Prymak and for the video selection Irina Timoshenko creatively approached to their tasks. They decided that it was the holiday not only for Ukrainian, but also for Russian, Bulgarian and Polish. Event's presenters – Anna Polyakova and Alina Podoprigora – were not only announced numbers of the concert program, but also told the audience, students of the third and fourth year, a lot of interesting information on various Slavic languages, as well as the general linguistic map.
