‘Student scientific societies under modern conditions’ was discussed at the round table in ZNU

On February 22 in the Museum, campus building 1 (ZNU) a local Round table debates were held, dedicated to the issue on ‘Student scientific societies under modern conditions’. The event was organized by the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Student Scientific Society (UPSSS).

The honor to open the meeting was granted to the Rector of ZNU, Professor, Doctor of historical sciences and a Distinguished figure of education of Ukraine Mykola Frolov. He greeted the guests and pointed out that our University administration always tries to support vibrant scientific activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students and help solving the problems they face. The meeting was attended by the Doctor of technical sciences, member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Distinguished figure of science and technics, Pro-rector for Science and Research Victor Gryshchak and the head of the Scientific Research Department Victoria Menailo along with the UPSSS coordinator Svitlana Dobroskok.

Among the participants there were also present UPSSS (ZNU) chairman Kseniya Myasnyankina, and chairmen of Student scientific societies across other Ukrainian universities, like Kirovograd National Technical University Gonchar National University (Dnipropetrovsk)  State Medical University (Zaporizhzhya), State Engineer Academy (Zaporizhzhya), University of Management and Business (Berdiansk). The attendants gave presentations on their Student scientific societies and shared about the conferences that were to take place in their home universities.

During the meeting the following issues were discussed: the problem of government support of student science, Innovation approaches in science, Prospects of international collaboration of scientific societies, Student scientific task-groups as a means of self-identification and self-realization and the role of the scientific mentor in the progress of a young researcher.

In the end of the meeting Kseniya Myasnyankina drew a conclusion and thanked the participants for the fruitful collaboration. Everybody received Letters of acknowledgement signed by the Pro-rector for Science and Research.
