Representatives of ZNU took part in the meeting marking the 70th anniversary of Zaporizhzhya liberation from fascist occupation
October 10 near the monument to Tank Crew of the Hero of Soviet Union Mykola Yatsenko, held a meeting to 70 anniversary of the liberation of Zaporizhzhya from fascist occupation. The ceremony was attended by representatives of local and regional administration, members of Union veterans, members of institutions, enterprises and organizations of Zhovtnevyi district, teachers, students and pupils of regional educational institutions. Zaporizhzhya National University was represented at the meeting First Vice-Rector Oleksandr Bondar, Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs Nataliya Grozovska, teachers and students of our university.
At the beginning of the meeting sounded Anthem of Ukraine. Then Deputy Head of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration Andriy Gamow congratulated all the present with a significant event and reminded about the heroic Soviet Army military operation, which resulted in 14 October 1943 by Zaporizhzhya liberation from Nazi occupation. Also Andriy Mykolajovych thanked all veterans who are in difficult times for our people, have contributed their daily fight of victory and won a peaceful heaven for their descendants.
Head of Zhovtnevyj regional administration of Zaporizhzhya City Council Oleksandr Manohin and Deputy of Zaporizhzhya City Council Kostyantyn Voytannyk in his speeches joined the sincere greetings to the veterans of Zhovtnevyi district present at the meeting and encouraged all the participants never forget feat of Zaporizhzhya liberators.
On behalf of all veterans with words of thanks and congratulations on the anniversary of the liberation of the city spoke honorary veteran of Zaporizhzhya Major-General of Aviation Anatoliy Korol.
Students and pupils of zaporizhzhya educational institutions presented the audience a concert program, which included dance numbers and recitation of patriotic poems. The memory of all who died in the World War 2 honored with a military salute and minute of silence.
After the solemn meeting representatives of regional institutions, enterprises, organizations and educational institutions laid flowers to the monument of a tank crew. First Vice-Rector Oleksandr Bondar, Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs Nataliya Grozovska also participated in a flower laying ceremony.
