In ZNU Scientific Library held a webinar "The Way of e-book in a library"

October 18 in the Scientific Library of Zaporizhzhya National University held a regular webinar on "The Way of e-book in a library", organized by Ukrainian Library Association.

The event was attended by experts of the Scientific Library of ZNU, University and Regional Scientific Libraries of Ukraine, teachers and industry specialists of electronic information.
Ph.D. in History, Head of Section of University Libraries UCA, vice president of information support of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Director of Scientific Library Tetyana Yaroshenko online to participants of the event told about the technological scheme of work with e-books in libraries. She noted that today the market of electronic books is developing very rapidly, and only 12-15% of users come for e-books to libraries. It is therefore necessary to create all the necessary conditions to make this index increased.
Tetyana Oleksandrivna has named the following effective mechanisms for improving performance: digitization of printed books of own fund libraries, subscription of electronic legal resources, mastery of skills with electronic reader, the ability of issuance electronic books to visitors "on hands" and so on. In addition, she noted that every library should develop a regulatory framework for its electronic collections, relying on Ukrainian legislation.
Also Tetyana Yaroshenko stressed that Ukrainian libraries need to develop, given the high popularity of e-books among users.
Scientific Library of ZNU today has 55,000 electronic copies of textbooks and books which can be found in the hall of electronic resource, created on the basis of our university.
At the end of the event Director of the Scientific Library of ZNU Valentyna Gerasymova thanked the lecturer for the interesting information and noted that the library of the University is developing rapidly, and her staff always provide a high level of library service.
