In ZNU held "Fifth Novytskyj matinee"

October 25 on the basis of Zaporizhzhya National University and National Park "Khortytsya" held National Scientific Conference "Fifth Novytskyj matinee" conference, which was organized by Zaporizhzhya scientific society of J.P. Novytskyj (Chairman, Ph.D. in History, associate professor of the Department of Source Studies, Historiography and Special Historical Courses Sergiy Bilivnenko), Faculty of History of Zaporizhzhya National University (Dean, Ph.D. in History, associate professor Viktor Tkachenko), Eastern Kowalsky Institute of Ukrainian Studies (head D.Sc. in History, professor of the Department of Source Studies, Historiography and Special Historical Courses of ZNU Volodymyr Milchev) and M.S. Grushevsky Ukrainian Institute of Archeology and Source Studies of National Academy of Sciences Ukraine, Institute of Oral History of ZNU and Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.

Conducting of "Novytskyj matinee" was started in 2003 by D.Sc. in History, professor of the Department of Source Studies, Historiography and Special Historical Courses Anatoliy Boyko. For this time the scientific event has become a traditional and during the last five years has gained nationwide scale.
This year were participated in the conference representatives of Ukrainian scientific-educational, cultural, academic institutions and organizations of Zaporizhzhya, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Lviv. Within "Fifth Novytskyj matinee" to discuss the problems scientists have made ​​social and cultural development of the Dnieper steppe in multiculturalism conditions of southern Ukraine. Scientists examined such an unexplored aspects of the present Southern Region as resettlement of Corsicans in 1768-1774 in the territory of Steppe Ukraine, the construction of engineering structures on the Dnieper River during the Russian-Turkish wars, the impact of the modernization process of the nineteenth century. the development of trade and entrepreneurship in our region.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Zaporizhzhya region from fascist occupation also held a meeting of the special section "The Man in war: fighting and local conflicts in southern Ukraine in XVII-XX centuries". It discussed the problems of social adaptation of the population, which did not participate in hostilities during armed conflicts and wars.
It is worth mentioning that during the "Novytskyj matinee" is approbation of dissertation research of young scientists who can get research and methodological support of leading scientists-historians of Ukraine. Best materials published in professional journals of M.S. Grushevsky Ukrainian Institute of Archeology and Source Studies of National Academy of Sciences Ukraine.
During the conference held a presentation of the book of D.Sc. in History, associate professor of the Department of World History of Kherson State University Vitaliy Andreev "Victor Petrov. Essays on the intellectual biography of the scientist", which entered the top ten best books of 2013 as a result of the Lviv Book Forum.
Thus, there is every reason to hope that next year, "Novytskyj matinee" will become already an international conference, which will exchange experiences and achievements between representatives of leading Ukrainian and foreign academic institutions.
