October 29th in ZNU held a roundtable on the topic "The role of media in the formation of human sexual culture." The event was organized and conducted by representatives of the Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of the Faculty of Journalism.
Of the various issues within their proposed topic of the report provided students - members of the Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of the Faculty of Journalism: a moderators Konstantin Andreev, Kateryna Syvash, Tatiyana Harkava and Valeriy Dmitriev. In the role of the expert performed journalist of ZODTRK "Zaporizhzhya" Vitaliy Babenko.
In their studies participants of the roundtable meeting discussed the actual question: how sexual themes today is represented in different media, is there a concept of an ethical culture within this area, which restrictions or freedoms should be guided contemporary journalists while creating materials of abovementioned topic.
Opinions of the participants are divided during the discussion of media products, the creation of which is based on the exploitation of gender roles (video clips of famous artists demonstrations of the naked body in television and internet etc.). Emphasis was also placed on the use of sexist advertising for increasing sales of goods and create programs specific direction to raise the TV rating. The use of so-called stopper when creating media products serve not only to enhance the users attention, but in some way influence the formation of their wings. The major danger they pose to children for whom Internet use becomes uncontrolled. Some also sees a threat to the formation of children's mentality in modern animated series and hidden advertising.
Participants of the roundtable meeting concluded that every journalist when creating applications and programs should be guided not only for profit in any way but his own responsibility for the effects of its products to different categories of users and the rules of journalistic ethics.
