At the Faculty of Foreign Languages of ZNU held methodological practical seminar for school teachers

October 28 at the Faculty of Foreign Languages held 16th Methodological practical seminar for teachers of foreign languages ​​in Zaporizhzhya. These teaching activities at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of our university held for six consecutive years. Thanks to cooperation with Information-analytical methodological center of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration, the popularity of these practical seminars is increasing every year. So, this time the event visited more than 150 teachers.

Plenary session of the seminar was chaired by Tatiana Kozlova, associate professor of the Department of English Philology. Our colleagues - teachers of city schools - were able to see the results of current research in the field of linguistic typology and experimental linguistics, to assess the importance of considering the typological characteristics of the language in the process of teaching it as a foreign language.
As always, in the media sections participated informants of foreign languages. In particular teacher of French language with representative of the University du Maine (Le Mans) Clemence Lanhle, who is trained on the basis of ZNU, discussed the peculiarities of using TICE (Information and communication technologies for education) in the process of studying French language. USA Peace Corps volunteer Mary Innis demonstrated to teachers of English how to teach the lexicon pupils from different levels of proficiency on the basis of works by Mark Twain. And teachers of German were discussed contemporary German literature with representative of the Goethe Institute (Germany), Esther Enhelkynh, who are trained on the basis of our university. While working this section were used a variety of games, dialogues, quizzes, which can be applied in practice, studying German literature.
During the break, the teachers were asked to get acquainted with novelties of literature, and after the break they continued to work in sections, most of which was devoted to interactive learning. During the sessions, which were conducted in specially equipped classrooms of our university, teachers can not only provide useful information from teachers of ZNU, but also to process the materials online. Associate professor of the Department of English Philology Olena Luzhanytsya devoted her seminar to the topic of computer programs and online resources when studying English Phonetics and teachers of the Department of Teaching Second Language Olga Tupakhina and Marina Trofymenko presented online interactive educational resource constructor «ExamTime» and the program «Weebly» - a free online visual service of site creation.
Teachers of English discussed ways of enrichment vocabulary of modern English with Head of the Department of English Philology, professor Saniya Yenikeyeva. Associate professor of the Department of English Philology Dariya Lazarenko drew the attention of participants on the use of interactive teaching methods to enhance the learning process in teaching English language and literature. Teachers of German language discussed the particular use of verbs in subjunctive mood of Modern German and with associate professor of the Department of German Philology Polina Yatsenko performed exercises on this grammar topic.
In the framework of cooperation between the Information and Analytical methodological center of Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration and the Faculty of Foreign Languages of ZNU announced a contest for students of 10th-11th forms for the best foreign language review on book they read. Due to this contest Faculty of Foreign Languages staff plans to attract more creative students to join our university.
Due to this seminar, teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages were able to extend the database of future entrants and invited pupils to free consultations that are held every Saturday at the Faculty.
