In the focus - the seminar for teachers of the history - Olympiad, SAS and preparation for EIT

November 29 at Historical Faculty of ZNU held practical seminar for teachers of Zaporizhzhya schools. It organized and conducted by representatives of the Faculty of History and the Preparatory Department of our university to train teachers and students in schools in the annual contest, the final and preliminary measures provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The seminar was attended by about 70 teachers of history of Zaporizhzhya schools. Opened the event Dean of the Faculty of History, associate professor Victor Tkachenko. He outlined the ways in which participants will work, and presented those present the speakers.
With the welcoming speech to the guests and participants addressed Rector of ZNU Mykola Frolov:
- Through conducting such events, we implement the idea of the continuity of education for the unity of the secondary and higher education. Science does not stand still: in the last decade were discovered archival materials accumulated a large amount of information, and that such joint activities should help to navigate school teacher in this huge flow of information to convey to the minds and hearts of pupils.
During the meeting dealt with the current and urgent issues of the school education on appointed direction, including the preparations for the Olympiads on history, writing examinations, meeting of Small Academy of Sciences, as well as External Independent Evaluation tests and so on. The main problem today is the employment of graduates of the Faculty of History, including the lack of places in the school system for young specialists.
To the audience made ​​presentations Head of the Preparatory Department, associate professor Iryna Bakalenko, professor of the Faculty of History Fedir Turchenko and Olexander Davlyetov, associate professors Sergiy Terno and Vasyl Gvozdyk.
So, Iryna Bakalenko who has repeatedly met with the representatives of school education districts in the city and region for career guidance, once again reminded the audience about the need to prepare in advance to EIT. On the basis of Zaporizhzhya National University created all conditions to prepare high school students for these tests. The courses of the preparatory department for future entrants, give the possibility not only deepen their knowledge of the selected subjects but also work with psychologists and other professionals who help graduates to adapt and then pass the EIT. They can also pass the complimentary free trial EIT to test their strength and knowledge before the main EIT. She reminded that in January will begin registration for the free passage of testing of all subjects provided in the EIT. Last year on the basis of ZNU trials tests amounted ​​about 2,500 high school students. Professor Fedir Turchenko spoke about the peculiarities of the understanding and interpretation of the history of academic science. He noted that in the period of democratic reforms, a large number of textbooks, which led to pluralism in the interpretation of historical realities. However, teachers should focus not on temporary politicized thought about this, but on basic sciences. The professor advised to use the publication "Ukrainian Historical Journal" as a professional.
Report on the activities of the newly established laboratory at the Faculty of Modern History of Ukraine and innovative technologies of ZNU, as well as the perspectives presented associate professor of this Department Sergiy Terno. Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations Olexander Davlyetov presented a detailed analysis of the history with the Olympiads and spoke about measures to prepare students to participate in it. Associate Professor of Contemporary History of Ukraine Vasyl Gvozdyk provided participants with information on methods of writing and preparing students for participation in the Small Academy of Sciences, the meeting will take place on the basis of ZNU in February next year.
During the workshop in 5th academic building of ZNU working exhibition of scientific literature, prepared by experts of the Scientific Library of ZNU. School teachers could get acquainted with the scientific literature on the history of Ukraine and the general history, new books, manuals on methods of teaching in secondary school, monographs of the teachers of our university etc..
