At the Law Faculty of ZNU held a roundtable discussion on "Implementation of the Constitutional law to peaceful assembly: problems and prospects"
Roundtable discussion on «Implementation of the Constitutional law to peaceful assembly: problems and prospects» chaired by the Deputy head of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration Andriy Gamow, held December 10 at the Law Faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University.
The event attended by representatives of the executive authorities and local governments, NGOs, academics and students of our university. Also, a large interest sparked the meeting among the local mass media.
At the beginning of the event the audience asked Andriy Gamow and reminded that December 10, in the world celebrated International Human Rights Day, introduced by the decision of the United Nations Organization in 1948 on the occasion of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. That is within this celebration and organized a roundtable discussion.
On behalf of the Rector and Administration of ZNU welcomed the meeting participants First Vice-Rector Olexander Bondar.
Also, the event was attended by Dean of the Law Faculty Tetyana Kolomoets and Deputy Dean for education work Victor Sabadash.
During the roundtable discussion with their reports performed: D.Sc. in Law, Head of Appeal Court of Zaporizhzhya region Victor Gorodovenko, Head of the executive committee of Zaporizhzhya City Council Zinayida Boyko, Deputy Head of Zaporizhzhya city department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhya region Dollyny Andriy, Deputy of Zaporizhzhya Regional Council Igor Grozovsky,
Chairman Advisor of Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Valeriy Kozyrev, Head of the Public Council under ZODA Alexander Babych and Regional Representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of Human Rights Volodymyr Pavlenko.
Participants discussed issues relating to the conduct of peaceful actions, rallies, meetings and demonstrations: requirements for the organization of such meetings, rules of conducting and so on. There were examples and analyzes of statutory acts to be followed by both officials and ordinary citizens.
The discussion raised by the report of Deputy Head of the Student Council of ZNU Olga Lebedeva and head of the regional department of the NGO "European Youth of Ukraine" Katerina Korotchenko, who have expressed their own vision about the subject matter.
Also their reports and proposals presented by the teachers of the University Ph.D. in Law, senior lecturer Nataliya Brovchenko and Ph.D. in Law, associate professor Olexander Ganzenko.
Summing up the meeting, Andriy Gamow thanked all the participants for their active participation in the discussion and encouraged for restraint, mutual tolerance and constructiveness.
