ZNU representatives attended the second regional conference "Actual problems and perspectives of medical, pharmaceutical and environmental sciences"
December 21 on the basis of Zaporizhzhya State Medical University held the Second Regional Scientific Conference of Students, postrgraduates and young scientists "Current problems and prospects of medical, pharmaceutical and environmental sciences". Co-organizers of the event were representatives of the Faculty of Biology Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of Zaporizhzhya National University and the Students Scientific Community of Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy.
The conference brought together more than 150 scientists, including representatives of the scientific community of gifted pupils "Young University", which works on the basis of ZNU. During the opening ceremony with a welcoming speech to the audience addressed Rector of Zaporizhzhya State Medical University, Honored Worker of Science and Technics of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor Yuriy Kolesnyk, Vice-Rector for Research of ZSMU, professor Valeriy Tumanskiy, Dean of Biological Faculty of ZNU, professor, graduate of ZSMU Lyudmyla Omelyanchyk and Head of Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of ZSMU Nazar Kuzio. In their speeches at the plenary session speakers stressed the importance of young scientists of Zaporizhzhya top three universities, which have combined their efforts to discuss current problems and prospects of national science. 
After the official part of the conference, participants continued to work in 4 sectional directions:
- biological, medical chemistry, organic, bioorganic, analytical chemistry, pharmacology, search for biologically active materials, laboratory diagnostics;
- genetics and plant breeding landscape design and ornamental plant cultivation, applied botany and plant physiology, pharmacognosy;
- normal and pathological physiology, morphology and experimental and clinical therapy, pediatrics, surgery;
- microbiology, virology and immunology, environmental management and environmental protection, hunting and ichthyology, ecology.
Based on the results of sections work, and after summing up the conference were awarded the best speakers. The participants expressed their hope that this scientific event in the future will become a traditional.
According to event organizers, the joint conference among students and young scientists of Zaporizhzhya universities enabling them to become better acquainted among themselves, to learn about the scientific developments of its peers, to discuss directions for the case studies, to improve the capacity to obtain international grants.
