August 5 Zaporizhzhya National University visited the United States delegation, composed of representatives of the Embassy and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problems faced by journalists in the performance of duties and areas of cooperation.
Among the foreign guests of our university were Coordinator on assistance of the USA Embassy Clifford Bond, Representatives of USAID Greg Olson and Ben Long.
During the meeting the participants discussed the interaction between media, government, NGOs and business in the modern world. Problems affected the awareness of developments in Ukraine rural areas, as well as information provided by the media and social networks, training of journalists.
"Being a good citizen means being informed. Democracy - is not only election, it is an access to information of every citizen"- summed up the event Clifford Bond.
