ZNU ranks the highest position among Zaporizhzhya universities in the international ranking Webometrics

Last week was published a regular edition of the World University Rankings «Webometrics Ranking of World Universities». This time the rating included 300 Ukrainian universities, including Zaporizhzhya National University ranked 28th, ahead of other universities in our city.

Interestingly, for half a year (research results are published twice a year) ZNU position rose to 419 points in global ranking: it moved from 4695 to 4276 place.

Rating Webometrics for tenth consecutive year conducting Cybermetrics Lab of Information and Documentation Centre (Centro de Informaciun y Documentaciun, CINDOC) of Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). This rating is the most powerful attempt to understand the global educational community. Today research team has already information about more than 20 000 universities from all over the world.

Typically, universities are evaluated on four parameters that characterize the level of scientific publications and university presence on the Internet, "impact", "presence", "openness" and "quality". Webometrics organizers say that the purpose of the rating is to support open access to scientific publications and training materials in electronic form. Developers aim to encourage researchers to publish the results of its research activities on the Internet to make them available to researchers all over the world.
