October 17 on the basis of the Faculty of History of Zaporizhzhya National University was held the All-Ukrainian Conference "Sixth Novitsky reading". The conference was attended by scientists from the south-eastern region: from Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Berdyansk, Melitopol, Mariupol, Yalta, Simferopol, Zaporizhzhya and Kyiv.
Conference was organized by Zaporizhzhya scientific society named after Y.P. Novitsky, the Faculty of History of Zaporizhzhya National University, Eastern Institute of Ukrainian Studies named after Kowalsky, Ukrainian Institute of Archeology and Source Studies named after M.S. Hrushevskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Institute of the Oral History of ZNU and Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
During the conference, scientists considered urgent issues of today, such historical topics as "Comparative historical and ethnographic methods of zones analysis of new settlers in South Ukraine in the early 19th century"; "The tourist potential of Zaporizhzhya"; "Trying to implement the royal power and the Provisional Government of the imperial project "Novorossiya"; "Review of ground source of communications of Taurian province of the second half of the 19th century"; "Demographic changes in population of Oleksandrivsk-Zaporizhzhya of 20th-30th years of the 20th century"; "The role of ethnicity in the deployment of party-political struggle and military confrontation in southern Ukraine at the time of the Central Council", etc.
