Representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (at the head of State secretary Volodymyr Y. Yel’chenko) and Zaporizhzhya regional state administration (at the head of Eugen G. Kartashov) visited Zaporizhzhya State University on May 16, 2003. The visit was confined to celebration of the Day of Europe in Ukraine. The following questions were considered during the meeting: Ukraine’s entry into NATO, the problem of American-Iraqi conflict, the possibilities of Ukrainian higher educational establishments to achieve European level, the prospects of economic development of Zaporizhzhya region.
