Head of the department of post-graduate and doctoral studies reported on the operating results of the specialized academic councils of ZNU in 2015

Yurii Kaganov, associate professor, candidate of historical sciences, head of the department of post-graduate and doctoral studies, summed up the results of work of seven specialized scientific councils of Zaporizhzhya National University for 2015 at the meeting of the Academic Council of ZNU. In accordance with par. 4.11 Regulation on specialized scientific council, approved by the Ministry of education and science, youth and sports of Ukraine of 14.09.2011, № 1059 (as amended), specialized academic councils provide annual reports on their work to the Academic Council of the higher education institution in which they are formed. Yurii Kaganov outlined the challenges and opportunities of the activities of specialized scientific councils of the University based on the analysis of these reports.

Today one doctoral (historical sciences) and six master's (philological, philosophical, physical and mathematical, juridical, economic, pedagogical sciences) specialized academic councils function in Zaporizhzhia National University. Scientists have defended 64 theses in these councils over the past year. As of today the activities of the specialized academic councils is one of the priority directions of development of the university, an important tool to raise its image, human and scientific potential.
