”Student aerobics ball – 2005” dedicated to the Day of our city took place on October 12 at sport palace “Yunost’”. Teams of higher educational establishments from Zaporizhzhya, Donets’k, Kharkiv, Berdians’k and Melitopol competed there.
The festival of beauty and grace began with greetings of honorary guests. The participants were addressed by head of Zaporizhzhya regional state administration Yuri Artemenko. He noticed with pleasure that the arrangement was held with the help and support of two universities: ZNU and ZNTU. A real fairy show with fancy dresses and mega-powerful music started after the torch was taken up by the festival arrangers – university rectors.
As usually the teams competed in three categories: basic, step and funk-aerobics. This year 26 teams took part in university games, two of them represented ZNU. One team demonstrated skills in basic aerobics, the other fought for victory in funk-aerobics. In spite of passive fans young men and girls cheered up and presented our university with dignity.
Before announcing winners in major categories, jury defined Mister and Missis of the ball.They are Denis Liapunov, ZNTU student and Tetiana Logieva from Kharkiv state medical university.
ZNU student, Ekaterina Shekhovtsova won the title of ”Smile of the ball”. Unusual title ”The longest legs” was awarded this year to ZNTU students Olga Barsova. ”Debut of the ball” was the team of radio-college at ZNTU, and the most artistic was the team of Zaporizhzhya national medical university. Another team of this university was awarded a title of ”Danger of the authorities”. ”The progressing team” is ZISMA team this year. And representatives of Melitopol pedagogical university were marked for original music.
The best in basic aerobics was ZNU team, teams of Donets’k national university come next. ZNTU representatives are the first in step aerobics. The second place was given to Donets’k team and the third ones are the students of Kharkiv national medical university. ZNU team was awarded the second prize in third category (funk-aerobics). All the participants were presented soft toys as prizes.
One of them – orange and blue fish – was presented by ZNU rector Sergij Tymchemnko to head of Ukrainian fitness and aerobics Federation Tetiana Pasechna. ”Let orange color symbolize gold and blue – silver”, said Sergij Mykhailivych.
