Guests from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

Representatives of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”: dean of the faculty of social sciences and social technologies, D. Sc. (Philology), professor Sergij KVIT and vice-president of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” D. Sc. (Philology), professor Volodymyr PANCHENKO were met at ZNU faculty of journalism on November 11.

National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and Zaporizhzhya National University signed a cooperation agreement. Visit of Kyiv scientists is one of the first steps in frame of this agreement. Dean of the faculty of social sciences and social technologies, D. Sc. (Philology), professor Sergij Kvit proposed to ZNU students and instructors presentation ”Modern multimedia projects in European journalism”. Professor is interested in hermeneutics, history of journalism and literature. One year ago Sergij Myronovych headed Kyiv-Mohyla school of journalism”. Now this post is occupied by his student, docent Eugene Fedchenko, who worked at TV channel STB in past.

One of the major subjects enlightened by Kyiv guests was a training program of preparation of specialists in journalism at “KMA”. Those who wish to study at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy pass several examinations – English and Ukrainian languages, specialty and they also pass contest of creative works and interview. There is a system of miners – minimum-programs. For instance, biologist might take a miner in politology, after the course he passes an examination. Motto of Kyiv-Mohyla school of journalism is as follows: student shouldn’t sit in class-room, his task is to practice!

Another honorary ZNU guest was vice-president of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, member of Union of writers of Ukraine, author of hundreds of scientific works, D. Sc. (Philology), professor Volodymyr Panchenko. He told ZNU instructors and students about National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” in general. This is his second visit to Zaporizhzhya. Professor came here for the first time as head of State attestation committee in 2000. Besides, he proposed to watch documentary film “Mission of Eugene Chikalenko”.

Kyiv guests visited ZNU faculty of journalism and the isle of Khortitsa.
