Ecological action on Khortytsya-island was organized by ZNU Faculty of Biology within the celebration of Environment Day.
Saplings and tools were kindly provided by Zaporizhzhya Forestry “Khortytsya Forest Area” public enterprise. Its leading huntsman Oleksandr KRAVTSOV is the graduate of the Faculty of Biology. Now he collaborates with his alma mater, assisting it with such an ecological actions. About 8,000 young firs were planted by faculty students and lecturers last Saturday. Students of all age-groups took part in the action, according to Professor Lyudmyla OMEL’YANCHYK, Dean of the Faculty of Biology. They could plant up to 400 trees each, she added.
