Kushchyk Anatolii graduated from the Kiev Institute of National Economy. He began his career in 1972 as an economist in the planning department of the Rohan Cardboard Factory in Kharkiv.

After serving in the army in 1974, Kushchyk Anatolii worked at the Zaporizhzhya branch of the All-Union Research and Design Institute "Kolormetavtomatika" as an engineer, senior engineer and economist-financier of the sector of feasibility studies.

In 1980 Kushchyk Anatolii was enrolled as an assistant at the Department of Political Economy of the Zaporizhzhya Machine-Building Institute. After graduating from the correspondence postgraduate course and successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis, he was elected to the position of senior lecturer (in 1985), and then associate professor (1987) of the same department.

Since 1991, Kushchyk Anatolii has been working as an associate professor and head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of Zaporizhzhya State University, and since 1997 as the head of the Department of Finance and Credit of Zaporizhzhya State Technical University. In 2003 he was transferred to the position of Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Credit of Zaporizhzhya National University. Since 2015, he has been a professor at the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance, where he works to this day. In 2016-2023, he simultaneously held the position of head of this department. In 2003-2006. He held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Economics of ZNU.

Kushchyk Anatolii took an active part in the formation and development of the Faculty of Economics of Zaporizhzhya National University. Acting as the head of the department, and then the dean, he made a lot of efforts to open new specialties, master's and postgraduate studies at the faculty. At that time, international scientific and practical conferences on the basis of the faculty were initiated, the publication of a collection of scientific articles, educational, methodological and organizational work was further improved.

Kushchyk Anatolii is the author of more than 60 scientific and scientific-methodical works. He supervises graduate students. It widely involves university students in scientific research.
