In 1990 received a Specialist degree in English Philology from Zaporizhzhia State University. After working as a schoolteacher of English Language in Melitopol she worked in print press: newspapers «Zaporizka Sich» and «Zaporizka Pravda» as a proofreader, deputy executive secretary, reporter, correspondent and columnist. She is a member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine. In 2005-2006, she served as Director of a Press Centre of the ZNU.
In 2006-2007 Myroslava Chabanenko was a participant of International Seminar "Establishing Media Literacy in Post-Communist Universities" under the project of the Open Society Institute (OSI), organized by Towson University (Baltimore, USA), School of Journalism of Kyiv Mohyla Academy and Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
In 2010, she defended her candidate dissertation "Internet Publications in Ukraine: Formation and Features of Development». In 2011-2012, she studied at the trainings under the project of Charitable Fund Development of Ukraine and the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Digital Media in the Universities. As a part of this activity, she visited a workshop on writing modules and learning outcomes for the specialty Journalist of Multimedia Publications under the project Passport of profession by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Confederation of Employers of Ukraine and the Charitable Fund Development of Ukraine (2013).
Myroslava Chabanenko is an author of numerous journalism pieces, more than 30 scientific and media review articles, and chapters in several monopraphs.
