Biography

Received Master’s degree with honors in Journalism (2008) at Zaporizhzhia National University. Spent a year as an exchange student in Graceland University, USA (2005, UGRAD Program). Worked as a staff writer for GU’s newspaper Tower, as a journalist in Ukrainian English-language national newspaper Kyiv Post.

Completed her PhD in Social Communications from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2011, Ukraine). Dissertation: “Globalization of News World Discourse: Case Study of Online English-Language Media of the United States, United Kingdom, India and Australia”. Since 2011, she has been working at Department of Journalism of Zaporizhzhya National University. 2013-2014 academic year she spent as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at School of Journalism of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, USA.

Most recent international experience: research fellowship at Utah State University (UASP IREX, 2016) and study visit to Center for key competences and research-oriented learning (European University Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, 2018). Coordinator of ZNU team in Erasmus+ KA 2 project DESTIN (Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism), 2018-2021. Studied experience of FOJO Media Institute (Kalmar, Sweden), Bath Spa University, and Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland).

Manager of ZNU team in Erasmus+ KA 2 project MultiEd (Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration), 2019-2022. Academic coordinator of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module EU-INDY (European Media Standards and Values for Independent Journalism in Post-Truth Era), 2020-2023. Team member of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project TEMPUS (Tailoring European memory politics for peacemaking in Ukrainian society), 2020-2023.

As a research administrator has over ten years of experience managing institutional and personal projects and grants from national and international funding agencies. Her research interests are global news, online media, media literacy, international cooperation, and research management.
